Godelleta and surroundings

Godelleta is an agricultural village, located half an hour from Valencia. An excellent starting point to explore Valencia and its surroundings.

Godelleta lives mainly from the citrus harvest and grape cultivation (mainly muscatel grape). The village has a wine cooperativa Vinícola, where you can buy white, red and muscatel wine, straight from the tap, per litre. This for the wine lovers 😉

Godelleta also has two bakeries, a fish shop, two small supermarkets, two hairdressers, a pharmacy, a bank and several bars where you can also get a simple meal.

Buñol

Located 15 minutes from our guesthouse.
The name Buñol comes from the Hispanics who called the town Bullon. Bullon means fountain and there are about 300 fountains (fuentes) in the town.

Highlights in Buñol: Castillo de Buñol, church El Salvador, several parks and gardens and a number of caves, of which Cueva Alta and Cueva Turche are the most beautiful to visit. A walk over the bridge Puente de Carcalín, which takes you over a deep gorge, is also worthwhile. However, Buñol is internationally known for the worldwide famous event Tomatina.

Cheste

A 10-minute drive from Casa Mas Montañas is the Circuito de la Comunitat Valenciana, named after Ricardo Tormo, former world champion and local hero.

Cheste is therefore known for its motorcycle races and annual grand prix (2nd week of November). The end of the GP season always takes place here. Events are also held here throughout the year. Ideal for motorcycle enthusiasts.

Requena-Utiel

For wine lovers, a visit to the wine region Requena-Utiel should of course not be missed. This wine region is best known for its deep red wines, rosé and of course the cava. This is the basis for the most famous drink from Valencia: Agua de Valencia. This is a cocktail of cava, orange juice, vodka, gin and sugar.

There are several vineyards/bodegas where you can combine a wine tasting with a visit to the vineyard.

Requena is a town with a beautiful historic center with many old historic buildings and has been declared a Cultural Heritage property.

Reservoir Benagéber

About 1 hour drive from our location, but oh so worth it. On the way you drive through a truly beautiful nature reserve.

The place Benagéber is one of the touristic places in the Valencian Community.

Titaguas Wine Village

This remote wine village is surrounded by beautiful nature. It lies between the Sierra de Jalavambre and the Turia River, which has left deep gorges and steep banks in the landscape here.

In the village there are still interesting examples of traditional architecture and an old 18th century granary. Unique in the village are the open caves, which are often used as barns, such as the abbey house.

In the village there are several wineries to visit, including the Coöperativa and Bodegas Polo Monleón, south of the village.

Sagunto

About a 40-minute drive from Casa Mas Montañas  is the old Moorish fortified town of Sagunto. Sagunto has beautiful historical monuments of more than 2000 years old, but also has a modern center, a harbor and a beautiful beach. Sagunto also has a beautifully restored Roman open-air theater from the first century.

This theater is located half way up the mountain which is next to the city. After a visit to the theater we recommend that you go a little further up the mountain. This is where the ‘Castillo de Sagunto’ (Carrer del Castell, s/n, 46500 Sagunt,) is located. This ancient fortress is a beautiful sight. It has been a National Monument since 1931. The fortress consists of several towers and squares and a kilometer long Roman protection wall. In addition, you have a great view on top of the mountain.

We look forward seeing you!
